CBSE Class 10 Exam Tips: ‘Read unseen passages several times to understand meaning’

Class X Board exams in Sanskrit holds significance as they contribute to the overall academic performance of students. The results may also impact future educational and career choices. The subject covers the study of classical Sanskrit literature, grammar, and comprehension.

The class X Sanskrit Board exam is scheduled on February 19, 2024 this year. The subject typically consists of both theory and practical components. The theory paper may include sections on grammar, literature, and comprehension. The practical exam may involve reading, recitation, and understanding of Sanskrit passages.

According to Santosh Desai, HoD, Sanskrit at Apeejay School, Noida, “The syllabus usually includes the study of classical Sanskrit texts, grammar rules, and the historical and cultural significance of Sanskrit literature.

It’s advisable for students to revise subject matters like shabd roop, dhatu roop and upbhivakti ke roop the most for the exam. This will help in strengthening the vyakaran part of the subject. Second step is to learn vishesh shabd to define situations and places well. Students should always use saral vakyas in vyakaran, it will help the invigilator to mark well.”

Moving on, sandhi visheshan should be handled with care since it holds major chunk of marks in the exam. In addition to that, karta and karam in vakya are also of importance, students should take care to divide them accordingly into ek vachan, dwiya vachan and bahu vachan.

So what are the common mistakes students make during this exam?

Most of the common mistakes students should avoid are, they should learn about puling and its related visheshan. Karta, kriya should never be attempted in a rush and common things like shirshak are often missing in the paper.

What are the pointers to be taken care at the last hour of the exam?

It is always suggested that students while revising should make points so that they don’t forget to mention them.

Apart from the above mentioned areas, Desai also recommends the following schedule for student to follow before the exam.

1:- अपठितगद्यांश ध्ययनपूर्वक दो-तीन बयर अर्श्य पढें तथय समझें ।

2:- पूरय पत्र पढने र् समझने के बयद मांजूषय के शब्ोां को पढनय र् समझनय चयठिए ।

3. ठचत्र को देखकर, ठकसकय ठचत्र िै यि समझनय चयठिए ।

4.एक पद र्यले उत्तरएक पदमें िी करें।

5.प्रश्न- ठनमयवण में उत्तरको समझें,पूरय प्रश्नठलखकर प्रश्नठचह्न भी लगयएँ ।

6.अन्वय करते समयश्लोक ध्ययनपूर्वक समझें ।ररक्तस्थयन पूठतव करने के बयद पुनः पढें।

7.समय यठद र्यक्य में पूछय गयय िै तो र्यदने अन्यथय र्यदनम् ठलखें ।

8. र्यच्य में कतयव र् ठियय कय अर्श्य ध्ययन रखें । ।। शुभयशीर्यवदयः मांगलां भर्तु।।
