The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has scheduled the Class XII exams for 2025 to be conducted from February 15, 2025, to April 4, 2025, in the traditional pen-and-paper, format. The exams will open with the subject of Entrepreneurship and conclude with Psychology. The Board has also released the 2025 syllabus, outlining the critical chapters and topics that students must focus on. Understanding the exam pattern is crucial for success, as it provides insights into the marking scheme, types of questions, and allotted time for each paper.

To prepare effectively, students are encouraged to solve CBSE Class XII sample papers, review question papers from previous years, and work on practice sets to enhance their performance. Ms Shilpa Maitra, a Geography teacher at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15 not only shared the format of the questions paper but also the mistakes to avoid in the paper.

1.       Instead of wasting time on rote learning, students must understand the concepts of each chapter. This exercise needs to be done with the help of the mind maps that the students must have been taught by their respective subject teachers during lectures.

2.       Revise all the assignments (especially Apeejayites) the students have given in the class after every lesson has been done.

3.       Attempt all the class XII Geography Board papers for the last five years. This will help the students to understand how to attempt them and get the same checked by the subject teacher.

4.       Understand the marking scheme and the word limit that the student needs to write with each question.

5.       Practice the map work. The CBSE has listed the chapters that they need to study for map work – stick to it. CBSE has specified the map work that the students need to know.

6.       Practice the sample question papers that the school have given to the students.

7.       The question paper is not complicated except for four to five questions that are worded differently to confuse the students.

8.       To get the MCQs, knowledge of the entire book is a must.

9.       The question paper is not lengthy provided the students attempt it with a cool head.
