CBSE Class 11 Physical Education syllabus 2025-26 released

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the updated syllabus for Class 11 Physical Education for the academic session 2025–26. This revised syllabus is now available for free download on the official website, cbseacademic.nic.in, offering students and educators early access to critical academic planning resources.

The Class 11 Physical Education syllabus outlines key topics, unit-wise content, specific learning outcomes, and the distribution of marks for the 2026 Board exams. The theory section carries 70 marks, while the practical component adds 30 marks, totalling 100.

The syllabus is divided into 10 theory units, covering topics such as Changing Trends & Careers in Physical EducationOlympic Value EducationYogaPhysical Education for CWSN (Children With Special Needs)Anatomy & Physiology, and Training & Doping in Sports. Each unit clearly specifies objectives, suggested teaching methods, and expected learning outcomes to ensure comprehensive student development. 

A notable emphasis has been placed on inclusive education with a dedicated unit on children with special needs and the roles of professionals like counselors and physiotherapists. The Yoga unit introduces ashtanga yoga, pranayama, and stress management techniques, promoting mental well-being alongside physical fitness.

Students can benefit from a range of learning methods, including kinaesthetic, inquiry-based, and game-based strategies, helping them grasp both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject.

The detailed and structured syllabus aims to equip students with foundational knowledge and skills while also encouraging awareness of fitness trends, career opportunities, and values through sports.
