CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025: ‘Practice past papers to learn frequently asked questions’

The CBSE Class 10 Science exam 2025 is scheduled for February 20, 2025. The syllabus includes Chemical Reactions, Acids, Bases and Salts, Metals and Nonmetals, Carbon and its Compounds, Life Processes, Heredity and Evolution, Light, and The Human Eye, offering a balanced understanding of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics concepts.

Ms Monisha Mathur, TGT, Science at Apeejay School, Nerul shares a few tips through which students can maximise their scores and handle the board exam with confidence.

  • Go through the syllabus provided by CBSE thoroughly and stick to NCERT textbooks as they cover all essential concepts.
  • Highlight important definitions, formulas, and diagrams.
  • Memorise important formulas for Physics and Chemistry. Practice solving numerical problems and diagrams.
  • Practice answering questions within the time limit and prepare concise notes for quick revision of formulas, reactions, and definitions.
  •  Have a balanced diet, get adequate sleep, take regular breaks and practice relaxation /meditation techniques to reduce stress.

Exam tips

  • Read the question paper carefully (first 15 minutes) to understand all questions.
  •  Answer questions you know well first and leave space for questions you need to revisit later.
  • Write neatly and clearly, underline the important points, formulas, and keywords. 
  • Maintain legible handwriting.
  • Avoid lengthy explanations, stick to what is asked and label diagrams.
  • Time management is very important, Allocate specific time to each section and keep 10-15 minutes for revision.
  • Avoid overwriting and scribbling, use a single line to strike out incorrect answers.
  • Prepare well in advance and sleep for at least seven to eight hours the night before the exam.
  • Eat a healthy meal on the day of the exam and arrive early at the exam centre to settle in and organize yourself.
  • Avoid last-minute discussions with peers about the syllabus or tough topics.
  • Take a few deep breaths to calm your nerves before entering the exam hall.
