CBSE announces 2024 compartment exam schedule

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for the 2024 compartment exams for classes 10 and 12, available on the CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. The exams will run from July 15 to July 22, 2024. This year, 1,32,337 students from class 10 and 1,22,170 students from class 12 are in the compartment category.

The class 10 Board exams were conducted from February 15 to March 13, 2024, while the class 12 exams were held from February 15 to April 2, 2024. All exams were conducted in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The compartment exams will follow the same schedule for most subjects, except for specific exams like Computer Application and Information Technology for class 10, which will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on July 22. For class 12, while most exams will be from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on July 15, subjects like Hindustani Music, Painting, Bharatnatyam-Dance, Odissi-Dance, Commercial Art, Kathak-Dance, Yoga, and Artificial Intelligence will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The detailed date sheet for the compartment exams is as follows:

• July 15: Social Science
• July 16: Hindi
• July 18: Science
• July 19: Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic
• July 20: English
• July 22: Urdu, other regional languages, Sanskrit, Computer Applications, Information Technology

Students will have 15 minutes of reading time before the start of each exam to understand the question paper. Schools must submit the list of candidates (LOC) via the Exam Sangam link for students to be eligible for the compartment exams.

Only those students whose names are submitted online will be allowed to take the supplementary exam. Students in the “compartment” category should contact their respective schools for further details.
