Marking a significant milestone in the realm of visual arts, Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar is hosting the second annual exhibition, ‘Visual Saga: The Foto Stories’. Inaugurated at Virsa Vihar, Jalandhar, this exhibition showcased the creative prowess of students and teachers from the Department of Applied Art under the guidance of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University and Chairman of Apeejay Education.


Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, bringing her keen eye for fine arts to the event. Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, extended a warm welcome to Dr. Sharma, acknowledging her invaluable contributions to the field of arts. Dr. Dhingra emphasised the significance of the exhibition, highlighting the participation of 55 students and teachers from the Department of Applied Art. The exhibition aimed to provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent and enhance their skills. Through a diverse range of subjects, including people, nature, architecture, and spirituality, the exhibited photographs depicted various human emotions and experiences.


Dr. Sucharita Sharma commended the efforts of Dr. Stya Paul Ji and Mrs. Sushma Berlia in fostering a culture of art and creativity. She praised the college faculty for inspiring the younger generation to appreciate and embrace different forms of artistic expression. Dr. Sharma emphasised the profound impact of photography in capturing the essence of human emotions and historical landmarks. Special recognition was given to students whose photographs stood out for their exceptional quality and artistic merit. Tarannum’s ‘Shiv Kapali’, Tegbir Singh’s ‘Wings over Water’, Jashan Saini’s ‘Sailing through Serenity’, Nandini Handa’s ‘Echoes of the Past: A Journey through History’, Shivalika Bansal’s ‘Buildings, Watery Twin’, and Rakshit Raj’s ‘Soaked in Sunlight’ were among the honored works.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra extended her congratulations to Dr. Sucharita Sharma, the judge of the exhibition, expressing gratitude to all individuals and organisations whose support contributed to the success of the event. Special mention was made of Mr. Shrestha Jain, Harman, President of Photography Club Jalandhar Kamaljeet Bhatia, General Secretary Mr. Sandeep Taneja, PRO Mr. Raj, and Founder Member Mr. Arvindra Pal Singh for their invaluable contributions. Dr. Dhingra also acknowledged the efforts of Mr. Anil Gupta, Head of the Department of Applied Art, Mr. Vikram, and Mr. Kunj Arora for their dedication and commitment to making the exhibition a resounding success.

The exhibition, open to the public from 14th to 17th May, will provide an enriching experience for art enthusiasts and students alike, fostering a deeper appreciation for the visual arts and showcasing the talent nurtured at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.
