For students who grow up within the same school corridors, classrooms become more than learning spaces, they become a second home. Alok Karwal, a Class XII Commerce student at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, is one such example. Having been a part of the Apeejay family since Nursery, Alok’s journey reflects how consistent guidance, exposure and values can shape a child into a confident young adult ready to take on the future.
Read edited excerpts:
You have been with Apeejay School since Nursery. What does that long association mean to you?
Being part of the same school since the very beginning feels wonderful. Studying here from Nursery onwards has created a strong emotional connection. Apeejay School has always felt familiar, comfortable and motivating, which makes the journey even more special.
Looking back, what are some of your most cherished memories from school life?
Every memory feels special, but school trips stand out the most. Those experiences outside the classroom helped build friendships and gave a break from routine learning while still teaching important life lessons.
Can you recall a moment when you displayed leadership at school?
Yes, during the school sports meet, I led the march past. It was a wonderful experience and made me feel confident and responsible. That moment really helped me understand what leadership feels like.
You are currently in Class XII Commerce. Why did you choose this stream?
Commerce felt like the right choice because of a strong interest in accounts. Over time, this interest grew stronger, making the subject enjoyable and meaningful.
How has Apeejay School contributed to your overall personality development?
The school has played a big role in changing my personality. My speaking and conversation skills have improved a lot. Earlier, communication was a challenge, but now it feels natural and confident.
What values or habits from school do you think will help you in the future?
Improved communication skills are one of the biggest takeaways. They will definitely help in higher studies and professional life. Discipline and positive behaviour are also important values learned here.
How do you see yourself today compared to your younger self?
There is a big difference. My behaviour, way of speaking and academic performance have all improved. The growth feels balanced, both personally and academically.
Which co-curricular activities have shaped your school experience?
Being part of the dramatics club has been exciting. Performing during annual functions and competitions helped build confidence and stage presence.
If you could relive one school day, which would it be?
The day of the school function Zenith would be the one. It was full of joy, performances and unforgettable moments.
What are your future plans after Class XII?
The plan is to pursue a BBA and build a strong foundation for a career in management.
