In today’s fast-paced world, where young minds are constantly juggling academics, technology, and extracurriculars, events like International Yoga Day play a pivotal role. They offer students a much-needed pause to reconnect with their physical and mental well-being. Celebrating such days in schools fosters mindfulness, discipline, and a holistic approach to life from an early age.

Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, marked International Yoga Day with immense zeal and enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. The school organised a special yoga session led by certified instructor Ms Ruchika, who brought her experience and expertise to guide the students through an enriching journey of inner and outer wellness.

The session began with a brief introduction to the origins and benefits of yoga. The instructor explained how regular practice of yoga enhances concentration, boosts immunity, improves posture, and promotes emotional balance. Students were then led through a sequence of yoga asanas, including TadasanaVrikshasanaBhujangasana, and Shavasana, with each posture explained in detail. The focus was on correct technique, breathing patterns, and mindfulness.

The highlight of the event was the inclusion of pranayam and guided meditation, which helped students experience calmness and mental clarity. The peaceful and energising atmosphere created during the session inspired students to incorporate yoga into their daily lives.

Teachers and staff also joined in, setting a fine example for the students by demonstrating that wellness is a shared responsibility. The event concluded with a short reflection session where students shared their thoughts and takeaways from the experience.

The principal of the school, Mr AK Sharma, appreciated the active participation and emphasised the significance of yoga in the school curriculum. He encouraged students to continue their practice beyond this day to truly benefit from the ancient wisdom of yoga.
