Educational excursions have long been a staple in enriching the traditional classroom experience. Among the various types of excursions, taking students to the movies holds a unique place, offering a blend of entertainment, education, and social development.

Movies can bring textbooks to life by providing visual and auditory experiences that can make complex subjects more accessible and engaging. Historical dramas, literary adaptations, and documentaries can supplement classroom teachings, helping students to better understand and retain information. For example, a historical movie can illustrate a particular period more vividly than a textbook description, while a documentary on natural science can show ecosystems and wildlife in action, enhancing comprehension.

Such excursions provide cultural exposure, inspiration, and much-needed relaxation, making them a worthwhile investment in students’ holistic growth. On July 31, 2024, primary students and teachers from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park embarked on an exciting excursion to watch the movie Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile at PVR INOX Cinemas, Saket.

The students were enthusiastic as they settled into their seats, eager for their cinematic adventure to begin. As the movie unfolded, they were captivated by the heartwarming story of Lyle, a lovable crocodile who finds friendship and acceptance in unexpected places. The film’s stunning animation and catchy musical numbers had the students singing along and laughing together.

Through Lyle’s journey, the students learnt valuable lessons about embracing diversity and inclusivity, as well as overcoming fears and misconceptions. The movie experience sparked a sense of wonder and curiosity among the students, inspiring them to ask thoughtful questions and share their experiences with animals and nature.

This excursion not only provided entertainment but also enriched their understanding of important social themes, making it a memorable and educational outing. The shared experience of watching a movie helps strengthen bonds between classmates and create lasting memories.
