When did you first start swimming?

I started swimming in April last year. It was during the early months of the summer season. Before that, I had never trained seriously in swimming or thought I would pursue it competitively at all.

What motivated you to join swimming as a sport?

Initially, I didn’t know I was good at swimming. My school coach noticed my potential and motivated me to continue. His encouragement made me believe I could improve and take swimming seriously.

Do you practice regularly?

Yes, I practice every day except Sundays. During the summer, training is regular and intense. In winters, practice slows down slightly, but I try to stay consistent and maintain my fitness as much as possible.

Which swimming style do you consider your strongest?

Freestyle is definitely my strongest swimming style. I feel most confident while swimming freestyle because my body movement feels natural and well-coordinated. My speed, breathing rhythm, and overall comfort level are much better in this stroke compared to others, which helps me perform consistently.

How do you prepare yourself before competitions?

Preparation mainly includes regular practice and proper warm-up before the event. I also visualise myself performing confidently and giving my best in the race. This positive mindset helps me stay focused, calm, and motivated before competitions, reducing nervousness and improving my performance.

Do you follow any special diet for stamina and fitness?

I don’t follow a very strict diet, but I avoid junk food as much as possible. I’ve realised that eating healthy food helps improve stamina and keeps my body active during practice and competitions.

What has been your best experience so far?

Winning my first prize was the most memorable experience. I had only been swimming for about a month, so I was very surprised. I went just for experience and didn’t expect to win.

Do you feel nervous before races, and how do you handle it?

Yes, during my first race, I was extremely nervous, and my legs were shaking. To handle it, I tried not to think too much and focused only on swimming calmly and confidently.

Who supports you the most in your sports journey?

My parents and school support me equally. My parents motivate me at home, and my school provides training and opportunities to compete. Both play a very important role in my journey.

What lesson has swimming taught you, and what are your future goals?

Swimming taught me to believe in myself. I never knew I could do this until I tried. I also enjoy football and basketball, and want to continue exploring different sports while representing my school proudly.
