Can you share a bit about your journey at Apeejay School and how it has shaped you?
My journey at Apeejay has been wonderful. There were ups and downs, but the facilities and the support from teachers were exceptional. I’ve been here since nursery, and now, in my final year, I look back with gratitude. The teachers here are dedicated, helping us with personal doubts and guiding us through every step.

When did you first get involved in sports, and how did you choose water polo?
I started swimming in 5th grade, thanks to my family. Initially, I was scared of water, but gradually I developed an interest. In 9th grade, I shifted to water polo. The transition was challenging, but the sport captivated me. By 10th grade, I was playing at the junior nationals and realised the need for rigorous practice to excel.

How do you manage your time between studies and sports?
Time management is crucial. My day starts at 5:30 AM with swimming practice, followed by school. After school, I attend tuitions, and then it’s back to the pool for evening practice. It’s a demanding schedule, but when you’re passionate about something, you find the time. Discipline and punctuality are key.

What has been your most memorable moment in your sports career so far?
The most memorable moment was being named the best goalkeeper at the junior national water polo championship in Indore. It was an unexpected honour and a proud moment. The recognition from coaches and peers validated all the hard work I put in over the years.

Who has been your biggest support throughout your journey?
My parents have been my biggest supporters. They pushed me to start swimming even when I wasn’t interested. My coaches and senior players also played a significant role, guiding me and teaching me the nuances of the game. Their support and belief in me have been invaluable.

What are your future aspirations?
I aspire to become a lawyer and continue playing water polo at the national level. I aim to represent India in international competitions, like the Asian Games. Balancing both academics and sports is challenging, but I’m determined to succeed in both fields.

What message would you like to give to younger students who look up to you?
Success comes through a process of patience, hard work, and discipline. Believe in yourself and stay dedicated to your goals. It might take time, but with perseverance, you can achieve anything. Also, remember that sports and academics complement each other, enhancing both physical and mental fitness.
