BEHIND THE CURTAIN: MANAGING THE MAGIC OF RAMLEELA
Published

There are few experiences as grand and culturally enriching as being part of a live Ramleela performance – and this year, I had the incredible opportunity to manage one of Delhi’s most celebrated Ramleela held at the historic Red Fort Ground.

Working under the guidance of Ishaan Sir from Shubhkamnai Weddings and Events, my responsibilities spanned backstage management and celebrity coordination – ensuring that every moment unfolded seamlessly.
One of the most exciting parts of this experience was working closely with talented artists like Arya Babbar, Kinshuk Vaidya, Manish Tyagi, and Riney Arya. Coordinating their rehearsals, stage entries, and comfort backstage was both a challenge and a privilege. Witnessing their professionalism up close taught me a lot about time management, interpersonal communication, and the value of mutual respect between the organizing team and the artists.
Each evening, as thousands gathered to witness the timeless tales of Ramayana, it made me realise the importance of old age traditions of storytelling and devotion. Standing behind the stage, hearing the audience cheer as Ravan Dahan lit up the night sky, I felt a quiet sense of pride.

This project wasn’t just about managing an event – it was about creating moments that stay with people long after the lights go out.
