Tell us a bit about your work Ishita?
Well, my company deals in preparing online courses. We provide services to many companies like PWS among others. We prepare the courses they give to their customers, for this we collect the data required to prepare these educational courses. We try our best to understand the approach to these courses from a beginners point of view and then design it accordingly. I am currently undergoing my internship here. This is a 4-month training period. My work hours are from 10am to 4-5pm. It is very flexible here.
Delighted to know this Ishita! And how was the B.Tech experience at ASU?
It was a very good journey and the teachers were very helpful. They were always open for discussion about new technology and trends in the market. They kept us updated about the tech world completely. They helped us prepare well for the placement cell as well. They gave many tips and guided us students at every point.
How did you prepare for the placement?
Apart from rehearsing the myriad tips that my teachers gave me, I studied in depth about the concerned technologies and subjects I had. This gave me a boost of confidence and helped in the interview as well.
One practical skill you learnt during B Tech days?
Prioritizing more important tasks first and managing multiple things at once. Multi-tasking is a modern day key skill. And finally I polished my communication skills. This helped me big time.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
In a stable job, honing my skills and gaining more experience. That is the aim.
Finally, one piece of advice for the current students?
The industry is very tough and getting jobs isn’t easy. So, work on projects and get internships as many as you can. Don’t lose hope. Be on the grind and remember it is the skills that matter in the end. Cultivate them the best.
