Read edited excerpts:

What motivated you to choose ASU for your BTech in Computer Science?
During my search, I found that ASU had a strong focus on emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which meant my first one-and-a-half years were online, the reputation of the faculty and the curriculum convinced me that this was the right place for me.

How would you describe your overall experience at ASU?
My experience at ASU was positive. The faculty was extremely supportive and provided real industry insights. Professors were exceptional mentors. They guided us through practical applications and coding practices, which were crucial for our development.

Can you share some memorable experiences from your time at ASU?
There were many memorable moments. We had the opportunity to attend workshops and meetings at IIT Delhi and Amity Noida, which were fantastic learning experiences. Additionally, participating in a hackathon organised by ASU was a highlight. These events allowed us to apply our knowledge in real-world scenarios and collaborate with peers from different institutes.

How did ASU’s Corporate Resource Center (CRC) assist you in your career development?
The CRC was instrumental in my career journey. They provided personal guidance on resume building, interview preparation, and telephonic call handling. The CRC also facilitated my internship at Akhildev IPR and Research Services in Noida, which was a pivotal experience. Their support in securing internships and job placements was invaluable.

What practical skills did you acquire at ASU that are helping you in your current role?
ASU emphasised practical learning, especially in data structures and algorithms (DSA). The faculty who taught us DSA made a significant impact on my understanding of these concepts. The practical skills I gained, such as critical thinking and effective communication, are proving to be essential in my role at CarDekho Group.

How important do you think internships are for engineering students?
Internships are crucial. They provide the industry experience and practical knowledge necessary to excel in the tech field. My internships, facilitated by ASU, gave me a first-hand look at the industry’s workings and prepared me for my present job.

What advice would you give to current students at ASU?
Focus on building a strong resume and developing your communication skills. These are key factors that can make or break your chances in interviews. Participate actively in workshops, hackathons, and internships. These experiences not only enhance your technical skills but also prepare you for real-world challenges.
