‘As an Apeejayite, I wanted the same values for my children as well’

Mrs. Tanya Khanna is a homemaker. She is also an influencer and a lifestyle and parenting blogger on Instagram. Her husband Vikas Khanna is a businessman engaged in the jewellery business. Their daughter Amaira Khanna is a Lower Kindergarten student at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld. Her elder son Arjun Khanna is an alumnus of the school and a current student at Apeejay School, Model Town.  In an interview, Mrs. Khanna delineates her reasons for choosing the school for her children and outlines her daughter’s progress at the school. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld for the admission of your children?

I am myself an Apeejay alumnus. I have done interior designing from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. So, Apeejay was my first priority. I am myself an Apeejayite and I wanted my children to get the same values and environment. Moreover, when I went to Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, I was very comfortable with the teachers. I saw many schools for my elder son but this was the best choice for him. My elder son never had any issues at the school. He really enjoyed his time there. So, we went ahead with the school for Amaira.

Please tell us a bit about Amaira and take us through her progress at school?

Amaira is a lovely child. She is a happy go lucky kid. She can adjust almost anywhere. However, she can not handle it if someone scolds her. If you are gentle with her then she is fine. Actually she needs an encouraging and a positive environment. She is very sensitive as a child. She is really active at school. She joined the school a bit late, she joined the school in Nursery last August. Still she picked up very well. Nidhi Ma’am also told me that Amaira has progressed very well.

She loves going to the playroom. Now it is the new stage for her to learn English and Math. I see that there is a gradual shift towards academics in the school. She likes the school a lot. She is happy going to school.

 Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Yes. The teachers are teaching very well. I have just met the class teacher so far. I am satisfied with her.

What is the best thing about Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld?

The best thing about the school was Madhu ma’am the school’s former in-charge. She was a  pillar of moral support. She was the best principal. The current Principal is also very nice but with Madhu Ma’am I had an emotional connection. She was like my best friend.

How has the experience of the online classes been for Amaira?

Amaira attended the online classes in Nursery. She was very comfortable with Vasudha Ma’am, her Nursery class teacher. I was also sitting with her during the online classes and I saw that she was doing the classwork properly and comfortably.

Now that the schools have reopened, is Amaira happy to be back at the school building?

Yes. She is very happy. The transportation is now available and she is travelling daily using the school bus. She comes home happy every day from school.
