Just through with his Class 12 board exams, Daksh Pamecha is all set to embark on his next academic journey. But before that, his mother, Mrs. Versha Jan, takes a moment to look back on the 14 remarkable years her son spent at Apeejay School, Noida. From his nursery days to the farewell in Class 12, Daksh has grown into a confident, logical, and well-rounded young adult – a transformation his mother attributes greatly to the opportunities and guidance provided by the school.
Your son has been at Apeejay School since nursery. How would you describe his growth over these 14 years?
Apeejay School has truly been a second home for Daksh. Right from the pre-primary years to the middle wing, he was given opportunities in every area – be it academics, sports, dance, or singing. The credit really goes to the school for ensuring that every child is encouraged to explore their interests. He may not have been the academic topper, but he was always above average and actively involved in everything.
Which subjects excited him the most? Was he always inclined towards commerce?
Interestingly, both my husband and I are from a science background, so we were initially unsure when he chose commerce with mathematics. But Daksh was very clear from the beginning – he didn’t want to pursue physics or chemistry, and his heart was set on exploring Math via commerce. He is a very logical and sharp-minded child, and I think commerce suits him well.
Did he take any coaching outside school?
Not at all! He completed his Classes 11 and 12 without any tuition. That’s a testament to the school’s excellent faculty. The teachers were incredibly supportive, even calling during exam gaps to guide him on how to study effectively. As a parent, I felt very reassured.

Beyond academics, what were some of his key interests?
He has been involved in football, cricket, and swimming – even participating in intra-school competitions. He also enjoyed dance and would often be a part of school programmes, especially in Class 12 where students organise cultural events. While he may not have competed inter-school in the arts, he never missed a chance to participate within the school.
How would you sum up his journey at Apeejay?
It’s been a truly amazing experience. The teachers have been exceptionally kind and involved – even now, when I visit the school, his nursery teachers remember us! Special mention to his biology teacher in Class 10, who helped him turn around his performance in a subject he initially struggled with. She told him, “This is the last year you’ll ever study biology, so make it count.” And he ended up scoring 98 in science – it was a big surprise!
What path is Daksh planning to take now?
He’s decided to pursue Economics with Honours. He has no interest in CA or CS – he’s very focused on economics and is likely to pursue post graduation in the same field later. I think it’s a smart and futuristic choice.
