Shreyas, an alumnus of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, is charting a unique course through the ever-evolving world of technology. With a fascination for Artificial Intelligence and a firm belief in logical thinking, he’s now building the foundations for a career that blends creativity with code. In this conversation, he reflects on his engineering journey, future ambitions, and even a bit of nostalgia from his school years. Read edited excerpts:
Honestly, it’s one of the most booming industries today. Artificial Intelligence is fascinating—it changes how we work and interact with technology. That excitement pulled me in.
What have your first-year learnings taught you so far?
The first year was mostly about strengthening basics, like introductory coding. It felt like a natural continuation of the 12th-grade syllabus, but with deeper insights.

You mentioned you’ll be specialising after B.Tech. What’s the roadmap ahead?
I plan to work for a couple of years post my B.Tech to gain real-world exposure. After that, I aim to pursue an MBA and take my career forward from there.
What are the must-have skills for anyone joining your course?
Strong math skills are a must—logical thinking and problem-solving are the backbone of computer science. Without that, the learning curve can be steep.
You’re specialising in AI—so is AI a blessing or a threat?
Both. It saves time and increases productivity, but at the same time, it’s also responsible for job disruptions. However, it’s also creating new roles. It’s about how we choose to use it.
These tech instincts—did they start blooming during school years at Apeejay Panchsheel Park?
Well, I initially thought of mechanical engineering. But the science culture at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park and my father’s background in the field shaped my interest and helped me pivot toward AI.
Last one—what role did your school teachers play in shaping you?
They were always there—be it doubts, guidance or support. Their patience and belief in me gave me confidence to ask, explore, and improve.
