Recently, Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, successfully hosted the PYP Coffee Meet with Parents, an enriching and interactive session designed to strengthen the vital partnership between home and school. The meet provided a warm and welcoming platform for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and collaboration, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic, child-centred education under the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Held in the school’s audio-visual room, the session began with an overview of key PYP milestones and initiatives undertaken throughout the academic year. Parents were walked through the programme’s journey, with a strong focus on student learning outcomes, wellbeing, co-curricular engagements, and the continuous growth of the PYP framework within the school. The presentation offered clarity on teaching methodologies, assessment practices, timelines, and expectations, enabling parents to better understand how learning unfolds in a PYP classroom.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the discussion around new initiatives and expanding opportunities for students. These included innovative programmes aimed at enhancing creativity, global exposure, language development, and digital expression. Parents were introduced to initiatives like Media Studio launch to promote audio-visual storytelling, the Model United Nations (MUN) Club to nurture leadership and global awareness, foreign language clubs to encourage cultural curiosity, and structured pathways like DELE and ISSO registrations to strengthen language proficiency and competitive participation. These initiatives reflected the school’s vision of preparing future-ready learners through diverse and meaningful experiences.

The meet was also graced by the school’s Vice-principal, Ms Neha Sharma, whose presence added value to the discussion and underscored the leadership’s support for strong parent-school collaboration. The session was thoughtfully led by Ms Monika Vasudev, Assistant PYP Coordinator and PYP-5 Form Tutor, who guided parents through the pedagogical approach of the programme and its alignment with inquiry-based learning. Ms Sameeksha Bhatt, PYP Coordinator, further elaborated on curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and upcoming learning engagements, offering parents a comprehensive view of the academic roadmap ahead.

Parents were given a glimpse into upcoming events and learning experiences planned for the coming months. These included academic showcases, student-led conferences, co-curricular activities, and special events aimed at nurturing social, emotional, and cognitive development. The session also addressed planning for forthcoming month-wise activities, ensuring transparency and preparedness for both parents and students.

The Coffee Meet concluded with an open forum that encouraged parents to share their reflections, ideas, and queries. Facilitators created a supportive and inclusive environment where parents felt heard and valued. The interactive exchange witnessed active participation from many parents, leading to insightful discussions and a truly fruitful outcome. The dialogue reinforced the shared responsibility of educators and families in supporting each child’s unique learning journey.

“The school truly feels like a home now. I am extremely happy and satisfied to have enrolled my children in this school. The PYP Coffee Meet is a wonderful initiative that gives parents a clear and comprehensive understanding of what is currently happening and what lies ahead. Everything was discussed in detail, and the overall experience was excellent,” shared Ms Gurman, mother of Aarya (PYP-4) and Krishiv (Reception).

Overall, the meet proved to be a meaningful initiative that strengthened trust, collaboration, and mutual understanding. It reaffirmed the school’s belief that when parents and educators work together as partners, children thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. The session stood as a testament to the school’s ongoing commitment to nurturing confident, curious, and compassionate learners in an ever-evolving world.
