The world of IBDP thrives on curiosity, knowledge, and lifelong learning. On the same note, Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, is ready to help its students soar higher. To kick-start this journey, the school hosted its IB Diploma Programme Orientation for the academic session 2025-26 in its AV Room. The event began with an atmosphere buzzing with excitement and anticipation.

While returning students walked in with confidence and smiles, the new DP entrants were visibly curious, eager to discover what lay ahead in their academic journey.

Ms Neha Sharma, the Vice-principal of the school, welcomed everyone to the DP family!  “For some of you, this journey began months back, waiting eagerly to transition from CBSE to IB and today, the doors of Apeejay’s IB School open for you. A new year is a fresh chapter. Let’s rise with courage, curiosity, and commitment, learning together as one community. Our outgoing Class of 2025 set a benchmark with 100% diploma success and top scores, proving that hard work pays off,” she shared.

The impressive IB results of the previous batch were also highlighted — a 36-point average, well above the global average of 30, with a remarkable number of students achieving 40+ points. “With expanded learning spaces and limitless opportunities, let’s make this journey inspiring and unforgettable. Best wishes to all our shining stars,” she added.

Taking the centrestage, Ms Kairvee Arora, Assistant DP Coordinator, introduced parents and students to the essence of the IB Diploma Programme. She reaffirmed the school’s alignment with the IB Mission Statement, emphasising the vision of creating “a better and more peaceful world through education” and fostering international-mindedness in students.

“Our philosophy is rooted in respect for diversity. We believe that every individual, with their unique perspectives, can be correct in their way. This mindset is central to the IB learner profile and what we strive to instil in our students,” she shared.

Ms Arora gave parents a comprehensive overview of the DP structure, including the core components — TOK (Theory of Knowledge), Extended Essay, and CAS and explained their importance in shaping critical thinkers and reflective learners. She elaborated on the assessment model, highlighting that each subject comprises internal assessments (IA) and external assessments, contributing between 25–30% and forming an integral part of the final IB score.

She also shed light on the school’s meticulously planned DP calendar, which ensures the timely completion of assignments, adherence to global IB deadlines.

Following this, Ms Jaishree, the Career Counsellor, outlined the school’s robust university placement record and detailed the roadmap for DP-1 and DP-2 students. She assured one-on-one counselling sessions and guidance for admissions to top global universities in the US, Canada, UK, and beyond. The school has a dedicated timetable block for career guidance, helping students chart their path toward their dream universities.

Ms Sanya Malhotra, Service Coordinator and BM Facilitator, took the stage to speak about the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component—a core, non-graded yet essential requirement of the IB Diploma. “CAS is about giving back to society. Through collaborations with NGOs such as CRI and other national-level organisations, students gain first-hand experience of real-world issues while making meaningful contributions,” she said.

The school also introduced new clubs and activities for holistic development, including Chess, Math, AI, Dyno Lab, Model United Nations (MUN), Creative Ventures, and more, along with ongoing associations with KCCI and Instituto Cervantes for cultural and linguistic exposure.

The orientation also focused on parental engagement initiatives, including coffee mornings, PTMs, and the Parent-Partner Programme. Additionally, students were informed about school travel guidelines, uniform policies, dispersal norms, and code of conduct.

The IBDP orientation in school was an exciting and insightful experience that set the tone for the journey ahead. Teachers introduced the core elements with enthusiasm, while students got a glimpse into subject choices, academic expectations, and time management tips. Icebreaking talk by the assistant DP coordinator and the Vice-principal helped students and parents feel more comfortable in the new environment. Subject facilitators shared their experiences, offering helpful advice and a few laughs. Overall, the orientation was a balanced mix of guidance, motivation, and fun — perfectly easing students into the rigours of the IB world,” Ms Shrimoyee Mathur, mother of Aaditya Nath Mathur, student of DP, said.

The day ended with a renewed sense of purpose, curiosity, and the promise of two transformative years ahead.
