Festivals in India are not just occasions of joy but also opportunities to connect with our cultural roots and spiritual traditions. Among them, Janmashtami holds a special place, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, an embodiment of love, wisdom, and divine playfulness. The festival brings families and communities together, with stories of Krishna’s childhood mischief, his melodies on the flute, and his eternal teachings from the Bhagavad Gita. It is a time of music, dance, devotion, and celebration, especially for children, who take delight in dressing up as Krishna and Radha, and enacting episodes from his life. Carrying forward this spirit, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, celebrated the festival with deep devotion and vibrant enthusiasm.

The programme commenced with an introduction to the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, emphasising the values of righteousness, love, and compassion that continue to inspire generations. Students then took the stage with graceful dance performances that beautifully depicted Krishna’s divine leelas, filling the atmosphere with energy and devotion.

Soulful bhajans followed, their melodious notes invoking a spiritual aura that resonated with the audience. The chanting of shlokas by students added a traditional and sacred touch, reminding all present of the timeless wisdom enshrined in Indian scriptures.

Every performance reflected the students’ dedication, creativity, and reverence for the festival. Teachers and parents alike appreciated the efforts put into the celebration, noting how it not only nurtured artistic expression but also strengthened students’ understanding of their cultural and spiritual heritage.

The celebration concluded on a note of joy and reflection, reminding everyone that Janmashtami is not just about honouring the birth of Lord Krishna but also about imbibing his teachings in daily life. The event left a lasting impression, blending devotion with festivity and reinforcing the school’s commitment to fostering holistic growth among its students.
