
The National Service Scheme (NSS), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), and the Rotaract Club of Apeejay Stya University jointly organised a Multi-Specialty Health Check-up cum Blood Donation Camp, along with dental and eye check-up facilities, at the university campus in Village Silani, Sohna. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare awareness and extend essential medical services to the surrounding community.
The camp was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Vijay Vir Singh, who appreciated the initiative “as a meaningful step towards fostering social responsibility among students while addressing community health needs.” Demonstrating his support, he personally visited all sections of the camp and even underwent an eye check-up, motivating students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in the initiative.
The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished academicians, including Prof. Moinuddin, Prof. Ananda Padhan, Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, Prof. Anupama Diwan, Prof. Amit Sinha, Dr. Sonam Raheja, Dr. Shatakshi Shrivastava, Dr. Jyoti, Dr. Shreya Das, Dr. Shilpi Chaudhary, and Dr. Amisha Vyas, along with numerous faculty and staff members. Their participation reflected strong institutional support for community outreach and service-oriented initiatives.
The camp was organised in collaboration with reputed healthcare institutions such as Rotary Blood Bank, Paras Hospital, and Centre for Sight along with Clove Dental. A wide range of medical services was offered, including general health check-ups, blood donation, eye examinations, dental screenings, and diagnostic tests such as SGOT/SPT, cholesterol, calcium, and thalassemia screening.
The camp received an overwhelming response from students, faculty, school teachers, and residents from nearby villages, including Silani, Hazipur, Khuntpuri, and Kiranj. The active participation highlighted the university’s commitment to holistic education and its vision of building a healthier and more aware society.
In recognition of their valuable contribution, the visiting doctors and medical staff were felicitated by Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, and Prof. Ananda Padhan for their dedicated service and commitment to community health. The visiting team also expressed their appreciation for the university’s warm hospitality and efficient organisation, which contributed significantly to the success of the camp.
The programme was efficiently coordinated by dedicated student volunteers, including Rotaract Club Vice President Phillip J. Dolo, along with Ayush Bhatt, Aryan Pandey, Abhishek Pathak, Yashika, and others, who played a crucial role in managing logistics and mobilising participants. Faculty coordinators Dr. Manoj Kumar, Mr. Adnan Irshad, and Dr. Vijay Kumar provided guidance and supervision, ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
The successful organisation of this multi-specialty health camp reflects the university’s continued commitment to nation-building and community service under the leadership of its academic heads, reinforcing the importance of socially responsible education.
