In alignment with the national initiative to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram observed Vigilance Awareness Week. The week-long programme aimed to sensitise students and faculty towards ethical conduct, good governance, and collective responsibility in building a corruption-free India.
The event was meticulously organised by Dr. Vijay Kumar, Associate Professor in Teacher Education and Coordinator of the NSS and Rotaract Club of ASU. The series of activities under this observance reflected the University’s continued commitment to nurturing socially responsible and morally conscious citizens.
The inaugural session began with a thought-provoking discussion on the importance of vigilance in everyday life and the broader relevance of observing Vigilance Awareness Week in India. Participants explored the country’s position in global corruption indices and examined the moral challenges faced in governance and public administration. Faculty members and students actively shared their insights on ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability, highlighting the pivotal role of youth in ensuring integrity within institutions and society.

A key component of the observance was a one-page paper writing activity, where students expressed their perspectives on corruption, transparency, and moral duty. The creative submissions reflected strong awareness and conviction among the youth to stand against unethical practices. Many students emphasised that change must begin at the individual level, through honesty and responsibility in daily actions.
A major highlight of the week was the screening of the acclaimed film “Article 15”, which powerfully portrays the realities of corruption, discrimination, and moral compromise within the administrative framework. Following the screening, an engaging discussion was held where students analysed the film’s relevance to real-world governance issues and reflected on how ethical awareness can drive social justice and systemic reform.
Throughout the week, the campus buzzed with conversations around integrity and civic consciousness. Students and faculty alike agreed that vigilance is not just a matter of compliance but a moral commitment that strengthens democracy and social trust.

The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at Apeejay Stya University concluded with a collective resolve to uphold ethical values in personal, academic, and professional life. The initiative successfully instilled a spirit of accountability, encouraging every participant to contribute towards a transparent and responsible India.
The week-long activities reaffirmed ASU’s mission of creating not just skilled professionals but also morally upright and socially aware individuals who can lead with conscience and integrity.
