A day filled with joy at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram as Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education along with Dr. Neha Berlia, Co-Promoter, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, launched an exciting new initiative – Radio Styavani FM 88.4, the University’s own Community Radio Station.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University Prof. Vijay Vir Singh, Prof. Ashok Ogra, Advisor at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), and heads and faculty members of Apeejay institutions.
The endeavour is to bring together the university community and beyond via engaging radio programming. By leveraging Radio Styavani FM 88.4 as a central hub and actively engaging in podcasting and internet radio, the seven higher education institutions under the ambit of Apejay can create a dynamic ecosystem for learning, collaboration, and outreach, ultimately strengthening their collective identity and impact.
Further, the aim is to promote Apeejay’s brand name. Moreover, to showcase diverse programmes, each institution can have dedicated slots or podcast series on Styavani FM and internet radio to highlight their unique courses, faculty achievements, and student successes. For the unified brand identity, consistent branding across all audio content emanating from the Apeejay Group can strengthen its overall image as a leading educational conglomerate.
Radio Styavani FM 88.4 will also support in Alumni Engagement. Through the channel, alumni can be invited for interviews or to share their career journeys, inspiring current students and fostering a stronger alumni network
In addition to fostering alumni connect, Radio Styavani FM, as a community radio station, can focus on content relevant to the local communities surrounding the Apeejay campuses, addressing local issues, promoting local talent, and sharing educational insights.
Further, the institutions can collaborate on public service announcements, awareness campaigns, and educational programs on topics like health, environment, and social justice, broadcast through Styavani FM. It will also lead to bridging the gap between the academic world and the local population, making educational resources and expert knowledge more accessible.
Sharing his views on this new launch, Prof. (Dr) Vijay Vir Singh, Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, emphasised, “The launch of Radio Styavani FM 88.4 marks a significant step in integrating education, communication, and community engagement. It reflects Apeejay Stya University’s commitment to foster knowledge-sharing while amplifying our collective voice. This platform will empower students, and faculty and bring our academic insights closer to the community we proudly serve.”
