Reinforcing its commitment to nation-building through quality education, Apeejay Stya University (ASU) has invited Class XII students (appearing or passed) to apply for the prestigious 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), a flagship initiative introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The outreach initiative, led by the School of Education, aims to inspire young minds to view teaching not just as a profession, but as a meaningful and impactful life choice.

As part of this initiative, the University has been actively engaging with schools, including PM SHRI Schools, to create awareness about higher education pathways and the evolving role of teachers in India’s education ecosystem. The interaction-focused sessions highlighted how ITEP prepares students to become competent, reflective and compassionate educators, equipped to meet the demands of 21st-century classrooms.

ITEP, introduced by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), is designed to integrate strong subject knowledge with rigorous pedagogical training. The programme offers integrated degrees such as B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed. and B.Com. B.Ed., enabling students to begin their teaching journey immediately after Class XII. With an emphasis on experiential learning, practicum exposure, technology integration and inclusive education practices, the programme nurtures teachers who are both academically sound and socially sensitive.

Admission to ITEP is conducted through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students aspiring to join the programme are encouraged to appear for NCET 2026 and regularly check the official NTA website for updates related to applications, examination schedules and notifications.

Sharing his vision, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, said that teaching remains one of the most influential professions globally. He emphasised that through ITEP, the University aims to groom educators who are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate leaders capable of transforming classrooms and communities alike.

Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Registrar, ASU, highlighted the University’s focus on empowering first-generation learners and rural youth through integrated, value-based education. He encouraged Class XII students to explore ITEP as a pathway to a respected and fulfilling career.

Echoing this sentiment, Prof. (Dr.) Ananda Padhan, Head, School of Education, described ITEP as a comprehensive professional pathway that prepares reflective and innovative educators through mentorship and hands-on training. Dr. Vijay Kumar, Coordinator, School of Education, urged students to become “teachers by choice, not by chance,” and motivated aspirants to appear for NCET to secure admission to this transformative programme.

With applications expected to begin in February 2026 and the NCET examination scheduled for April 2026, Apeejay Stya University calls upon motivated youth to step forward and contribute to building an enlightened, inclusive and progressive India through education.
