Apeejay Stya University champions youth empowerment at Red Cross Adventure Camp 2025 in Manali

The camp is promoting teamwork, courage, and community spirit

As part of its commitment to youth development and community engagement, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, proudly participates in the State Level Youth Red Cross Adventure Camp being organised by the Indian Red Cross Society, Haryana State Branch. The event is being held at Manali, Himachal Pradesh, from 23rd to 27th June 2025, and is exclusively for selected male participants from selected institutions across Haryana.

The adventure camp has been designed to:

  • Foster leadership, teamwork, and adventure spirit among youth.
  • Promote the core principles of the Red Cross Movement: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality.
  • Provide experiential learning through exposure to nature, physical challenges, and social responsibility.

Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), Apeejay Stya University is the counselor of the camp. A group of selected student participants from various Schools of Studies are representing Apeejay Stya University in the camp. Each participant has been covered under insurance, ensuring safety and well-being throughout the camp duration.

The ASU team departed from the campus after a formal send-off. The event was marked by high energy and enthusiasm among students. Students participated in a range of physically engaging and skill-building activities such as:

  • Trekking and hiking
  • Survival skills training
  • Rock climbing and river crossing
  • Campfire cultural exchange

There is a provision of workshops for the youth attending the camp. First-aid training and emergency response, blood donation awareness and sessions on youth’s role in social development and disaster response are some of the topics for the workshop.

After attending the camp, students will be able to develop enhanced self-confidence, teamwork, leadership skills, and environmental awareness. They will gain practical exposure to risk management, community service, and personal discipline. The camp will also foster camaraderie among participants from different districts and backgrounds.

The State Level YRC Adventure Camp 2025 at Manali aims to be a highly enriching experience for the ASU delegation, contributing significantly to the physical, emotional, and social development of student participants while instilling in them a strong sense of service and national integration.
