The students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, once again proved their excellence beyond academics by securing third place in the Inter-College Badminton Championship organised by Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) at Doaba College, Jalandhar. The tournament witnessed fierce competition among top colleges affiliated with the university, but the Apeejay team’s grit, focus, and determination helped them emerge as one of the best-performing teams in the championship.
The ACFA badminton team comprised of Ribhav Batra (B.Design 7th Semester), Sarthak Gupta (BBA 5th Semester), Ishan Kalsi (B.Voc 1st Semester), Shreyansh Chauhan (BBA 1st Semester), Krish Kohli (BBA 5th Semester), and Ashish Narang (B.Voc 5th Semester). Each player displayed excellent coordination and sportsmanship throughout the matches, demonstrating a perfect blend of skill, speed, and strategy. Their teamwork and discipline were commendable as they played against strong opponents from leading colleges in the region.
The championship served as an enriching experience for the students, giving them an opportunity to test their abilities in a competitive environment. Their spirited participation and consistent efforts led the team to secure a well-deserved third position, earning recognition and admiration from peers and faculty alike.
Adding to the pride of Apeejay College, Ribhav Batra and Sarthak Gupta have been selected to represent the Guru Nanak Dev University team, marking a significant milestone in their sports journey. Their selection not only highlights their personal excellence but also underscores the college’s commitment to nurturing holistic development among students — encouraging them to balance academics with co-curricular pursuits.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra lauded the students for their remarkable performance and congratulated the team on bringing glory to the college. She expressed immense pride in their achievement, stating that such accomplishments are a reflection of Apeejay’s emphasis on fostering all-round growth.

She remarked, “Our students continue to make us proud not only through academic achievements but also through their excellence in sports. Their dedication, discipline, and teamwork are truly inspiring. I hope this success motivates others to pursue their passions and represent the college at greater heights.”
Dr. Dhingra also extended her appreciation to the Department of Physical Education and the mentors who guided and trained the students throughout the championship. She emphasised that participation in sports helps inculcate essential values like perseverance, leadership, and resilience — qualities that shape confident and capable individuals.
