Yog popularly known as Yoga is not just a stretching or breathing exercise. It is an inner world alignment. It synchronises the inside world with outside, teaching one to maintain awareness and balance. Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park never leaves a stone unturned for its students and the school recently organised a yoga session on International Yoga Day.
Under the able guidance of the yoga instructor Mr. Vijender, the students were taught various asanas to keep their body and mind in perfect alignment. The teacher also updated all about the benefits one derives from yoga. The students along with their parents attended this enriching programme and practiced the yogic kriyas to incorporate the golden rules of yoga for a well-balanced life. The ancillary and support staff of the school also attended the session.
Similarly, Apeejay School, Nerul also celebrated International Yoga Day and saw in it a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline to its students. The session was held in the pre-primary activity hall. Students of junior and senior kindergarten classes took an active part in the celebrations. The session commenced with the teacher emphasising the importance of yoga and physical exercises in daily life. Children got to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body.

All the students performed several asanas along with the teachers. Various asanas were followed by om chanting as warm-up exercises were also performed. The well organised session was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. A meditation session was also conducted by pre-primary coordinator Ms. Mrinalini Singh. She explained to students the benefits of yoga and how it helped in improving concentration and attaining inner peace.
Ms Mrinalini Singh also mentioned, “Yoga goes a long way in improving one’s quality of life. Be it physically, mentally or spiritually, yoga is always effective. I urge all students to incorporate this ancient exercise in their daily schedules and reap the benefits.”
