Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, hosted a vibrant Hindi Diwas celebration with an array of engaging activities, fostering a love for the language among students. The event aimed to instill pride in Hindi and enhance students’ linguistic skills through a blend of creativity and education.
The highlight for Class 4 students was an innovative “Read the Hindi Newspaper” activity. Students were challenged to read articles aloud, sharpening their reading skills while becoming more familiar with current affairs in their native language. This not only improved their comprehension but also encouraged them to develop the habit of reading newspapers regularly—an essential life skill that fosters focus and awareness.
Meanwhile, Class 7 students took part in a fun-filled slogan-writing activity. Tasked with crafting catchy, rhyming slogans, the students exhibited immense creativity and thoughtfulness, blending humor and seriousness in their slogans. This exercise boosted their imagination and honed their writing abilities while emphasizing the importance of being socially conscious.
Class 8 students engaged in a similar challenge, working on Hindi advertisement writing. This tested their skills in persuasive writing while deepening their understanding of how advertisements are crafted to appeal to audiences. The activity encouraged students to think commercially while using the Hindi language, reinforcing the practical applications of what they learn in the classroom.
Throughout the event, teachers provided insightful lessons on the history and significance of Hindi, explaining the deep cultural pride that surrounds our national language. They emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Hindi in today’s globalized world, reminding students of its rich literary and cultural heritage.
The school coordinator, Ms. Deepti Kaushal, praised the enthusiasm and creativity of all participants. She encouraged students to continue engaging in such enriching activities that blend education with fun, stating that their efforts made Hindi Diwas an unforgettable event for the school.
