What does this recognition mean to you and how did it come about?

This award is truly an honour. Our school falls under Zone 23, and throughout the year we participate in numerous sports and cultural activities. I have always ensured that our teams participate actively in almost every event. Because of this consistent participation and performance, especially as a Technical Referee in sports like badminton, basketball, football and table tennis, the Directorate of Education recognised my contribution. I’m proud that Apeejay School, Saket secured the Silver Medal in the Junior category of Badminton Zonal and we’re expecting another Silver Medal at the State Championship as well.

Can you walk us through your responsibilities as a Technical Official?

As a Technical Official, I oversee scoring, points, and fair play. Whether it is badminton or basketball, maintaining accuracy is crucial. I was responsible specifically for Apeejay School, Saket, ensuring our students get the maximum chance to participate and grow.

How do you balance your school duties with the responsibilities of officiating?

During school hours, I make sure each child participates in sports—whether it’s their favourite game or something new. If a student dislikes a sport, I try to understand why. I focus on the cognition and mindset of students, helping them choose a sport that motivates them. This balance comes naturally when the goal is to help students grow holistically.

How has the school supported your journey?

I owe a lot to our Principal. His constant support, coordination, and passion for sports have helped me perform to the best of my ability. His motivation pushes me to keep improving.

What are your aspirations for the future?

My goal is simple—I want Apeejay School, Saket to win the overall trophy in Zone 23. I’ll continue working towards securing maximum medals across all sports.
