Apeejay School, Saket organised an insightful Gita Varta session on the theme “Dedication” (Nishtha). The event aimed to help students understand the deeper meaning of dedication as explained in the Bhagavad Gita and its role in shaping a purposeful life.
The session beautifully highlighted how dedication is not just about hard work but also about a focused commitment to one’s values, goals, and duties. Through engaging examples and explanations, the importance of Nishtha was brought alive for the young learners, making them reflect on how this virtue can guide their everyday actions.
Lessons from the Bhagavad Gita
The discussion drew inspiration from the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, where dedication is seen as the foundation of both personal excellence and social good. Students were encouraged to look beyond temporary achievements and realise that true success comes from unwavering commitment towards responsibilities, whether in academics, relationships, or service to society.
The speakers also emphasised that dedication requires discipline, patience, and resilience, qualities that help individuals overcome challenges and remain steadfast in their chosen path.
Inspiring self-reflection and growth
The interactive format of the session encouraged students to connect these values with their own lives. Many reflected on how dedication could help them in building confidence, staying consistent in studies, and contributing positively to their community.
By fostering such reflections, the programme inspired learners to adopt Nishtha as a guiding principle. It motivated them to not only set ambitious goals but also to pursue them with sincerity and persistence.

Building purposeful citizens
Sessions like these play an important role in shaping young minds. Beyond academic learning, they instill qualities that prepare students to become responsible, ethical, and compassionate citizens. By linking ancient wisdom to modern challenges, the school continues to nurture values that strengthen character and purpose.
The Gita Varta on “Dedication” concluded with students resolving to practice Nishtha in their daily lives, whether in academics, personal growth, or service to society, reinforcing that dedication is indeed the key to both inner fulfilment and collective progress.
