Apeejay School, Saket took a meaningful step towards nurturing socially responsible citizens with the launch of the ‘Miljul Meal’ programme, in collaboration with Roti Bank. The initiative was spearheaded by the school’s Interact Club under the guidance of its coordinator, Ms. Neena, as part of a sustained community outreach effort. Designed to instill empathy, compassion and a spirit of sharing among students, the programme aligns seamlessly with the school’s focus on value-based education and experiential learning.
Learning Through Giving
As part of the initiative, students from various classes brought two chapatis along with sabji, lovingly prepared at home, to be donated to the poor and destitute. More than a food-sharing drive, Miljul Meal became a powerful learning experience—teaching students that small, consistent acts of kindness can make a tangible difference in society. Through active participation, children learned about food dignity, social equity and the importance of collective responsibility in addressing hunger.

The programme was envisioned and encouraged by the Principal, Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih, whose leadership continues to emphasise character-building alongside academic excellence. Appreciating the collective effort, he shared, “Thanks to all the students and their families for joining this small drive, together we can bring a change!!! Kudos team!!!!” His words reinforced the belief that education must extend beyond classrooms to shape compassionate and conscientious individuals.
Community Support Makes the Difference
The overwhelming participation of students and the wholehearted support of parents—especially mothers—played a pivotal role in making the very first day of the initiative a heartwarming success. Families became active partners in the learning process, reinforcing lessons of empathy at home and helping students understand the value of mindful cooking, sharing and gratitude.

Shaping Kind Hearts Alongside Bright Minds
With the launch of Miljul Meal, Apeejay School, Saket reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education—where learning is not limited to textbooks but enriched through real-world engagement. The initiative stands as a reminder that when young minds are guided with purpose and values, they grow into individuals who not only excel academically but also contribute meaningfully to society, nurturing a culture of kindness, care and shared humanity.
