Apeejay School, Saket, organised a ‘Life Skills Session’ to empower teachers in their role as mentors. The workshop was led by Mr. Rajiv Sachdeva, Director of the IC Centre for Governance, New Delhi, and a renowned author on the subject. The session was attended by Dr. Reema Ramachandran, Founder President of the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), Brigadier Rajender Kumar, Director of the IC Centre for Governance, and Sunil Kumar, Director of the IC Centre for Governance (ICCFG).
The event focused on enhancing teachers’ mentoring skills, aiming to help them foster positive attitudes and practices that can significantly impact students. As Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih, Principal of Apeejay School, Saket, aptly put it, “As teachers we also need to relook and constantly strive to become a better version of ourselves.” Mr. Sachdeva discussed the importance of cultivating habits that promote success and happiness, urging teachers to inspire their students to become proactive, resilient, and confident individuals. He emphasised the need for teachers to guide students not only academically but also in developing life skills that help them navigate challenges.

Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical activities, Mr. Sachdeva offered actionable strategies that teachers could implement in their classrooms. The goal was to encourage educators to take a more active role in shaping their students’ character and overall well-being, helping them grow into responsible and resourceful citizens.
Reflecting on the session, Ms. Ashu Khattar, Vice-Principal of Apeejay School, Saket, shared her thoughts: “Very simple yet profound way of explaining how a teacher can be a great mentor and be a life changer for students.” The session proved to be a valuable learning experience, providing teachers with tools and techniques to mentor their students more effectively. It was an enriching opportunity for all attendees to reflect on their role in shaping young minds and prepare for the challenges ahead in their teaching journey.
