In a bid to reinforce safety awareness and equip students with essential life-saving skills, Apeejay School, Saket organised a comprehensive Mock Drill on campus. The initiative, conducted in line with Government directives, aimed to enhance emergency preparedness and build a sense of alertness among both students and staff.
Building confidence through safety protocols
The mock drill began with detailed instructions and live demonstrations of key emergency response actions. Students actively participated in the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” technique – an essential protocol followed during earthquakes and other sudden emergencies. The activity helped instill the value of quick reflexes and calm behaviour in stressful situations.
Once the signal was given, students promptly evacuated their classrooms and assembled in the designated open areas, maintaining order and discipline. Teachers and staff members coordinated the movement, ensuring that every step of the evacuation was carried out smoothly. The entire school displayed impressive teamwork and readiness throughout the drill.
Learning life-saving techniques

One of the most impactful parts of the day was a special session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and basic First Aid. Conducted by trained professionals, the session gave students a hands-on introduction to crucial first response techniques that can save lives in real emergencies.
Students learned how to check for breathing and pulse, perform chest compressions, and use basic first aid materials in case of injuries. The session was interactive and informative, designed to empower young minds with the ability to take responsible action when needed.
Safety as a shared responsibility
More than just a drill, the event highlighted the school’s continued commitment to safety education. Regular mock drills like these are not merely exercises – they are a promise to protect, to prepare, and to prioritise well-being in every possible way.
Speaking on the occasion, the school principal said, “Preparedness is not panic – it’s a powerful lesson in responsibility and resilience. Kudos Team.”

With increasing awareness about disaster management and the importance of timely response, initiatives like these play a vital role in shaping responsible and capable citizens of tomorrow. Apeejay School, Saket continues to lead by example, instilling life skills that go beyond the classroom – ensuring that students are not only academically sound but also ready to face real-world challenges with resilience and composure.
