In an earnest initiative to promote student safety and well-being, Apeejay School, Saket conducted a sensitisation workshop on Good Touch and Bad Touch for students of Classes II to V. The interactive session was designed to raise awareness about personal safety, help children understand the concept of body boundaries, and empower them to speak up when something feels uncomfortable.
Interactive learning through stories, visuals, and role play
The workshop was conducted in an age-appropriate and engaging manner, using storytelling, visuals, and real-life scenarios to explain complex concepts in a simple way. The main objective was to equip young learners with the knowledge and confidence to identify safe and unsafe touches. Additionally, the session emphasized the importance of trusting one’s instincts and reaching out to a reliable adult – be it a parent, teacher, or guardian – whenever in doubt or distress.
Active participation and safe conversations
Teachers and facilitators used a combination of animated visuals and role-play activities to make the session memorable. Students actively participated by sharing their thoughts, answering questions, and listening attentively to the presenters. The discussion was not only informative but also created a safe space for children to learn and ask questions freely.
As schools play a crucial role in shaping children’s awareness and responses to challenging situations, such initiatives are vital. This workshop helped students understand the difference between helpful and harmful behaviour and underscored that their feelings matter. It also encouraged them to express themselves confidently and without fear.
Promoting a safe and inclusive environment
The programme aligned with Apeejay Education’s core philosophy of holistic development and safety for every child. By integrating life skills and safety education into the school environment, the institution continues to foster a nurturing and responsible culture. The school’s efforts in organising such thoughtful events highlight its commitment to creating a secure and inclusive atmosphere for its students.
