With an inspiring blend of purpose and participation, the Interact Club of Apeejay School, Saket, celebrated Earth Day with a spirited awareness rally. Staying true to this year’s theme, “Planet vs. Plastics”, the event spotlighted the urgent need to reduce plastic pollution and encouraged the community to adopt eco-friendly alternatives for a healthier planet.
Community Comes Together
The celebration kicked off with an enthusiastic rally, where students – dressed in their school uniforms – marched shoulder-to-shoulder with the residents of Saket. Echoing powerful slogans like “Say No to Plastic” and “Green Earth, Clean Earth”, the group made its way through the bustling J-block market and PVR block area. The event drew attention from passersby and local shopkeepers, many of whom paused to applaud the effort.

Earth Day, celebrated globally every year on April 22, serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility towards environmental conservation. At Apeejay School, Saket, this year’s observance was not just symbolic – it was action-oriented, educational, and deeply community-driven.
Through posters, placards, and student-led street performances, the rally became a moving classroom, educating the public about the harmful effects of single-use plastics on marine life, soil health, and human well-being.
Plastics can take up to 1,000 years to decompose in landfills! Imagine the impact we can make by simply refusing plastic bags or bottles. The Earth Day rally concluded with a pledge by students and attendees to reduce plastic use and spread awareness in their communities – truly reflecting the spirit of “Think Globally, Act Locally.”
