In a vibrant and engaging initiative, students of Apeejay School, Saket recently participated in a creative workshop to promote awareness about ocean protection and marine life conservation. Organised in collaboration with the Embassy of France in India, the event brought together young minds to express their thoughts through colourful and imaginative artwork.

Fostering creativity with a purpose

Held within the serene and interactive space of the embassy, the workshop served as a platform for students to explore the beauty of underwater ecosystems while understanding the urgent need to protect them. The theme focused on the preservation of oceans, which play a vital role in sustaining life on Earth.

The hands-on session was guided by environmental educators and artists, who helped the students channel their creativity into impactful visual stories. The excitement was palpable as each student proudly displayed their handmade marine-themed art pieces – ranging from corals and jellyfish to thoughtful scenes showing harmony between humans and marine life.

A step towards global responsibility

The event was part of the global movement leading up to the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), encouraging children to become young ambassadors for environmental change. Through origami, pop-up art, and vibrant ocean-themed illustrations, students conveyed messages of sustainability, harmony with nature, and their vision of a cleaner, greener future.

Principal of the school, Dr Sujeet Eric Masih, lauded the efforts of the students and the collaborative spirit of the event. He shared,”It’s time to get the maximum exposure, time to take up the social causes, and time to sprout the leadership instincts, kudos dear students.”

His words resonated with the event’s objective – empowering the next generation to take initiative and lead with purpose.

The walls of the event area were adorned with striking blue fabric installations, symbolising waves and the vastness of the sea, enhancing the immersive experience. The joyful and collaborative spirit among students, teachers, and guests reflected the power of art in uniting communities for a shared cause.
