Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park students are doing wonders, with success following them like a shadow at every event. Recently, at the Model United Nations (MUN) event held at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15, students Anvi Gupta from class 10 and Swarnim Prabhat from class 8 brought laurels to their school. Anvi won the High Commendation Award in AIPPM, while Swarnim secured the Special Mention Award in UNGA-DISEC.

Speaking about her performance, Anvi said, “The event was a special platform where students representing various nations came together to deliberate upon worldwide issues. I was in the AIPPM Committee, representing Shashi Tharoor, a Member of Parliament from the Indian National Congress. We discussed the topic of reservations and minority rights, weighing the pros and cons.”

She added, “This recognition makes me feel proud. My hard work truly paid off, and I’m excited to participate in more events like this in the future.”

Swarnim, on the other hand, represented the Republic of France in the United Nations General Assembly’s First Committee (DISEC), where the agenda was “Deliberation Upon Trade in Arms with Special Emphasis on the Arms Trade Treaty and its Loopholes.”

Swarnim explained, “My role involved defending France’s stance on arms control, highlighting the importance of closing loopholes in the Arms Trade Treaty. I engaged in discussions about expanding the treaty to cover modern threats like drones and cyber weapons.”

He added, “I’m truly honored to have received the Special Mention Award. It reflects the hard work I put into understanding the complexities of the arms trade and France’s policies. This achievement motivates me to keep improving my skills in research, negotiation, and public speaking.”

Overall, the event was an enriching experience, leaving both students excited to take on more MUN challenges in the future.
