In today’s highly competitive job market, academic knowledge alone is no longer enough. Students are expected to demonstrate confidence, clarity of thought, strong communication skills and professional etiquette during job interviews. Interview simulation workshops play a crucial role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and corporate expectations. By recreating real interview scenarios in a controlled environment, such workshops help students overcome anxiety, understand industry expectations and develop the practical skills required to succeed during campus placement drives.
With this objective, the Apeejay School of Management recently organised the Interview Simulation Workshop 2025, creating an energetic and engaging learning environment for PGDM students. The workshop was specially designed to enhance students’ confidence and improve their interview readiness, especially for those specialising in Marketing and Human Resources.
During the workshop, selected students were invited to step into realistic interview situations. They faced questions commonly asked by corporate recruiters and were assessed on their communication skills, body language, confidence and conceptual clarity. These live interview simulations allowed participants to experience the pressure and expectations of an actual recruitment process, helping them become better prepared for real placement interviews.
An important aspect of the workshop was the involvement of peer learning. While a group of students actively participated in mock interviews, the rest of the batch observed the sessions closely. This observation-based learning helped them understand effective answering techniques, professional communication styles and the importance of maintaining positive body language. It also allowed students to identify common mistakes and learn how to avoid them in their own interviews.

The workshop successfully created an atmosphere of active learning, collaboration and real-time feedback. Students received immediate guidance on their performance, including tips on improving clarity of responses, structuring answers, handling tricky questions and presenting themselves confidently. This feedback-driven approach helped students recognise their strengths and work on areas that needed improvement.
Faculty members and trainers played a crucial role in guiding students throughout the session. Their inputs helped participants understand what recruiters look for during interviews and how to align their preparation accordingly. The interactive nature of the workshop made it more than a routine training session, turning it into a practical learning experience that students could directly apply during campus placements.
The Interview Simulation Workshop 2025 proved to be a promising initiative toward building stronger, more confident and industry-ready professionals. By combining real-time practice, observation, feedback and guidance, the workshop significantly enhanced students’ placement preparation. The event marked a positive step in strengthening the career readiness of PGDM students and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic professional development.
