Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka made a significant mark at The Industry Academia Conference 2025. This prestigious event, focused on the theme “The Future Workforce Trilogy: New Gen, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainability,” brought together thought leaders, academicians, and industry professionals to deliberate on the evolving dynamics of the workforce. The event served as a unique platform for intellectual discourse, fostering knowledge-sharing and collaborative discussions aimed at shaping the future of education and industry integration.
The conference was structured into insightful panel discussions, each addressing various aspects of the theme. A highlight of the event was the participation of Dr. Rahul Singh, Director of Apeejay School of Management, as a panelist in a session dedicated to the integration of technology in higher education. The discussion revolved around the role of technology in academia and its impact on educational processes and curriculum delivery. His perspectives resonated with the audience, encouraging meaningful dialogue on how technology can be optimally leveraged to improve educational standards in the country.
Technology’s Transformative Role in Academics
During the discussion, Dr. Singh underscored the imperative role of technology in modern academia. He highlighted the necessity of data-driven learning methodologies and smart classrooms that can help personalise the learning experience and improve overall engagement.
However, he pointed out a crucial gap: India’s higher education sector lacks a well-defined technology policy. There is no unified framework guiding the integration of technology in classrooms, making its adoption fragmented and inconsistent across institutions. He further elaborated on the need for a structured approach that defines how technology should be leveraged for an engaging learning experience and what role educators should play in this transformation. Without such a policy, institutions may face challenges in standardising technology use, ultimately impacting the quality of education imparted to students.

Bridging the Information Gap and Creating Support Systems
Dr. Singh stressed the importance of clear expectations regarding technology use in academics, ensuring that all stakeholders—students, faculty, and administrators—are on the same page. He also called for the development of support systems that enable faculty members to effectively utilise technology for both teaching and research purposes. Without adequate resources and training, faculty members may struggle to maximise the benefits of digital tools. He advocated for specialised training programs and workshops that would equip educators with the necessary skills to integrate technology into their teaching methods effectively.
Another key issue raised by Dr. Singh was the lack of a centralised platform that provides information about industry projects available for academic institutions. At present, academic institutions must independently seek out such opportunities, limiting the potential for collaborative learning and real-world exposure for students and faculty alike. A common platform, he suggested, would streamline access to industry-academia collaborations and enhance practical learning. The creation of a national repository of industry-academic collaborations could significantly bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, ultimately benefiting students and educators alike.

Active Participation from Apeejay School of Management
Apart from Dr. Singh’s valuable contributions as a panelist, ASM was well-represented at the conference by esteemed faculty members. Dr. Ishita Adhikari, Dr. Pragya Arya, and Mr. Damian J. Amaral attended as delegates, engaging in discussions and networking with professionals from various academic institutions and industries across the country. Their participation helped reinforce the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and knowledge-sharing in academia.
With its forward-thinking approach, ASM continues to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between education and industry, preparing students to thrive in an AI-driven, sustainable world. The institution remains dedicated to shaping the future of education by staying at the forefront of technological integration and industry collaboration, ensuring that its students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
