Students from Apeejay School, Noida, showcased their creative prowess at Wartex 10.0, an Inter-school event hosted by SRDAV Public School, Dayanand Vihar. Competing across categories like filmmaking, video editing, and digital design, the talented young achievers not only impressed the judges but also brought home multiple accolades. Here’s what the winners had to say about their inspiring journey.

Yashraj Bhardwaj: Crafting Impactful Stories through AI

The class XI student was part of the team that clinched the first position in the Kubrikism event. Reflecting on their win, Yashraj shared, “The event revolved around creating a short film on AI’s societal impact. It was a great learning experience, from shooting to editing, and making creative use of visual effects.”

Having participated in eight competitions and winning five, Yashraj attributes his growth to the guidance of his teachers. He plans to explore filmmaking alongside his academic interests in PCM with computer science, inspired by his passion for storytelling and editing.

Kshitij Sagar: Mastering Improvisation in Filmmaking

This class X student, also contributed to the winning Kubrikism project. Detailing the process, he remarked, “We had three weeks to create the film. While the script was basic at first, many lines and scenes were improvised during the shoot.”

An aspiring IITian, Kshitij taught himself video editing and praised the school for its support in providing resources like cameras and computer labs. “The message of our film was to rely less on AI and more on your own abilities,” he added.

Abhiroop Kapoor: A Visionary in Digital Storytelling

Aanother member of the Kubrikism team, this class XI student found his niche in narrative development. “Our team drew inspiration from past projects and let creativity flow naturally,” he explained. The team’s film, centred on AI’s impact, was a testament to their storytelling and editing abilities, earning them the first-place trophy.

In addition to Kubrikism, Abhiroop participated in Dexterity, a digital imaging competition, where he secured second place. For this, he designed a poster inspired by Tyler’s Igor album.

“I focused on a brutalist theme, carefully choosing colours and imagery to match the aesthetic,” he shared. Having honed his skills over years of experimenting with tools like Adobe Photoshop, Abhiroop has also contributed to designing school t-shirts and posters for events like the G20 summit.

Balancing academics and creative pursuits, Abhiroop is eyeing a career in game design. “If game designing doesn’t work out, I’ll explore data analytics or narrative fields, but I’ll always stay connected to storytelling,” he said, showcasing his dedication to combining art and technology.

Ishaan Gupta: Elevating Visuals with Precision

This class XI student, won third place in the Rework Render event. He transformed raw footage into a visually stunning 90-second edit using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. “The competition challenged my skills in VFX, SFX, and colour grading,” he shared.

Ishaan’s journey began four years back when he discovered a passion for video editing. He now plans to participate in more such competitions to refine his craft.
