In a deeply spiritual and emotionally resonant ceremony, Apeejay School, Noida organised a Hawan for students of Classes X and XII ahead of their Board examinations. Held in the Senior Foyer Area, the ceremony brought together students, parents, teachers, the school leadership, and invited priests in a collective prayer for success, strength and a bright future.
The sacred gathering was not merely a ritual but a meaningful milestone — marking both an academic transition and an emotional farewell for the outgoing batch.
Invoking Blessings for Success in Exams and in Life

With 11 Hawan kunds arranged systematically in the foyer, students dressed in their school uniforms sat alongside their parents and teachers, participating wholeheartedly in the ritual. Each student was given samagri and a printed sheet of mantras to follow, making the ceremony inclusive and personal.
As the Pandit ji chanted the mantras, he also took time to explain their meaning and significance, ensuring that students understood the deeper essence of the ritual. The explanations emphasised not only success in examinations but also goodness, righteousness and prosperity in later life. After every mantra, the collective “Swaha” echoed in unison, filling the space with a sense of unity and devotion.
A disciple of the Pandit applied tilak and rice on the foreheads of attendees, symbolising purity of thought and divine protection. The atmosphere was calm, reflective and charged with positive energy.
Principal Dr Neha Sharma explained the thought behind the ceremony, “As per our culture, we always seek divine blessings before any auspicious beginning. What better way than performing a Hawan where children and parents participate together and pray not only for success in the forthcoming Board examinations, but also for success in life ahead. When we invoke blessings from the divine, it brings positivity, prosperity and overall well-being.”
Her words beautifully captured the school’s intent — success not just in examinations, but in life.
A Moment of Reflection and Emotional Strength

Following the ritual offerings, a gentle pushp varsha was performed. Parents, teachers, the Principal Dr Neha Sharma, Vice Principals Ms Amrita Hajela and Ms Puneeta Bhasin, and Academic Coordinator Mr Jatin Hasija showered rose petals upon each student, personally blessing them for their upcoming journey.
The gesture was deeply symbolic — a shower of faith, encouragement and unconditional support.
Addressing the students, Dr Sharma invited everyone to close their eyes for a minute of silent prayer, “I would like to pray to God to succeed you not only in your upcoming examinations but in every examination of life. Let us close our eyes, join our hands and pray wholeheartedly that we achieve the success we aspire for. I pray that you grow into good human beings, make the right choices, and move forward with integrity and determination. May you always remain blessed.”
Her emphasis on becoming “good human beings” reinforced the school’s commitment to character building alongside academic excellence.
The ‘Good Luck’ Pens and Admit Cards: Formal Readiness Begins
After the Hawan concluded, the ceremony transitioned into a significant academic moment — the formal distribution of Board admit cards.

Class X students received bookmarks, best wishes cards, pens and their admit cards, while Class XII students were given pens, letters of appreciation and their admit cards. The distribution marked the official beginning of their Board examination phase.
In a unique and meaningful practice, students tied their “good luck” pens with kalava (molly) and placed them near the Hawan kund. Dr Sharma then chanted the Gayatri Mantra to bless the pens before they were returned to the students — symbolically empowering them with confidence and positivity for their examinations.
The moment beautifully blended faith with responsibility.
Emotions, Faith and a Sense of Closure
For many students, the ceremony was more than spiritual — it was emotional.
“I was feeling nervous before the exams, but the Hawan helped me feel much calmer. It gives me comfort to believe that God is with me and will support me during the exams. I’m feeling hopeful now”, shared Yesha Singh of Class 12 F.
Kashvi Bhalla of Class 12 E expressed a similar sentiment, “The ceremony made me feel calmer and filled me with positivity. Of course, there is still exam stress, but I feel more composed than before..”
Shrija Saharia of Class 12 C reflected on the deeper significance of the moment, “It feels like a new beginning. At the same time, it’s emotional because it marks the official end of our school journey. The Hawan brought a sense of positivity and reassurance.”
Parents too found meaning in the ceremony.
The father of Arshia Gupta of Class 10 D shared, “I appreciate that the school is keeping our cultural values close to the children. Faith plays an important role in shaping character. It reminds children that they are accountable for their actions and encourages them to stay on the right path. It is important that they continue to believe and seek blessings as they move forward.”
Similarly, the mother of Tanush Pandey of Class 12 B said, “It was a beautiful ceremony. The children received blessings and felt supported, and that is what matters most. We are happy to see them step into their future with positivity,”
Gratitude and Blessings
One of the most touching moments came when students bent down to touch the feet of their parents and teachers, seeking blessings before stepping into a crucial academic phase. The gesture symbolised humility, gratitude and respect — values deeply embedded in the school’s ethos.
Prasadam was distributed to all attendees, concluding the ceremony on a note of warmth and togetherness.

Interestingly, amidst the spiritual atmosphere, small glimpses of nostalgia unfolded. Several students were seen asking their teachers to sign memorabilia — perhaps quietly acknowledging that this was not just preparation for exams, but the closing chapter of their school life.
A Holistic Approach to Examination Readiness
The Hawan ceremony at Apeejay School, Noida, was not just about rituals or traditions. It was about building emotional resilience, fostering collective support and reminding students that they are guided, blessed and supported.
By combining spiritual grounding with the formal distribution of admit cards, the school ensured that students felt both inwardly calm and outwardly prepared.
As Classes X and XII now step into their Board examinations, they do so not only with pens and admit cards in hand, but with faith, encouragement and the collective blessings of their school community.
