In a heartwarming celebration of faith and reflection, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar observed the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with deep reverence and joy. The students, guided by their teachers, visited a local Gurudwara to pay homage to the great spiritual leader whose teachings continue to illuminate lives across the world.
The serene ambience of the Gurudwara filled the young hearts with peace and devotion. Students bowed before the Guru Granth Sahib, offered prayers, and listened attentively to the soulful kirtan that resonated through the holy space. The experience was both spiritual and educational, encouraging the children to imbibe the noble lessons of compassion, humility, equality, and selfless service—values that form the cornerstone of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy.
A day of reflection and inner learning
The visit was not merely a religious observance but also a meaningful learning experience. Teachers encouraged students to understand how Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings remain deeply relevant in today’s world—where kindness, honesty, and respect for all are essential for harmony. By observing the Sikh tradition of community service and humility, students realised the importance of living a life guided by empathy and moral strength.
The event also gave them a glimpse into the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India, nurturing respect for diversity and unity in faith. The Gurpurab celebration served as a reminder that education extends beyond books—it is also about nurturing the soul and developing strong moral values.

Instilling values through celebration
Through such celebrations, Apeejay School, Model Town, continues to uphold its tradition of holistic learning. The school believes that spiritual awareness and moral grounding are integral to a child’s growth. Students were encouraged to reflect upon Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s timeless message of “Ik Onkar” — the belief in one universal creator and equality of all human beings.
As the day came to a close, students returned to school with hearts full of gratitude and inspiration. The radiant smiles and calm expressions on their faces reflected the peace and positivity they experienced during the visit.
In celebrating Gurpurab, the school once again reaffirmed its commitment to shaping learners who are not only intellectually capable but also spiritually awakened and socially responsible.
