Apeejay School, Kharghar, recently participated in an exciting event titled “Eloquent Echoes”. Organised by Datta Meghe World Academy (DMWA) in collaboration with the Mumbai Sahodaya Schools Complex, the event aimed to evaluate and showcase students’ speaking abilities. Held at DMWA, the event attracted participants from 30 schools and featured competitions in Storytelling, Elocution, and Declamation Debate.

The declamation debate competitions in Hindi and English stood out as key highlights of the event. Students passionately debated thought-provoking topics such as “AI in Medicine,” “Ethical Dilemmas in Human Cloning,” and “The Realities of Social Media.” The intense atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, showcasing the dedication and preparation of all participants.

From Apeejay School, Kharghar, Rushil Mohan, a student of Class 9, delivered a remarkable performance in the English declamation debate and was declared the winner. Speaking about his experience, Rushil shared, “I chose to speak in favour of the topic ‘Social media is making us less social.’ I backed my argument with historical stories, statistics, and reports. Despite only having a week to prepare due to exams, my key was speaking from the heart, which unlocked my success.” Rushil’s passion for public speaking, combined with his desire to serve in the Indian Air Force, shone through his performance.

Similarly, Om Prajapati, a Class 11 student from Apeejay School, Kharghar, secured first place in the Hindi declamation debate. Reflecting on his preparation, Om mentioned, “The topic I used for the inter-house debate at school helped me prepare for the declamation competition. My Hindi teacher played a crucial role in shaping my interest in the language and public speaking. I believe that understanding the topic deeply is essential to convey the truth convincingly.” Om’s dedication and years of practice contributed to his victory.

The event provided a fantastic platform for students to enhance their public speaking skills and gain confidence. It also fostered camaraderie among students from different schools, encouraging them to learn from one another. The organisers at DMWA and Mumbai Sahodaya Schools Complex received praise for their hospitality and seamless execution of the event, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Overall, the “Eloquent Echoes” event was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of effective communication and critical thinking in today’s world. Apeejay School, Kharghar, looks forward to participating in more such events that encourage student growth and development in various skills.
