Apeejay School, Faridabad observed International Yoga Day with immense enthusiasm and a collective spirit of well-being. Organised on the school grounds during the early morning hours, the event brought together students, teachers, and staff in a peaceful celebration dedicated to physical, mental, and planetary health.

The theme for this year’s Yoga Day – “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” – highlighted the interconnectedness of personal wellness and environmental sustainability. True to this message, the session aimed to cultivate not just flexibility and focus, but also a sense of global responsibility.

A calm and energetic start to the day

The session began with gentle warm-up exercises, encouraging students to loosen up and prepare their bodies for the yoga asanas ahead. Led by the school’s experienced Physical Education instructor, the session then moved into a sequence of classic yoga postures. These included Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), and the dynamic Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation).

Cultivating mindfulness and inner peace

The yoga session was more than just a physical exercise – it became a platform for mindfulness and mental clarity. The school grounds echoed with calmness, as the rhythmic breathing and meditative stillness filled the air.
