Mrs. Lerma Mukherjee is a homemaker and mother of Apeejay Saket students, Somica and Lerica Mukherjee. She is also a registered medical technology practitioner in Philippines and India. Her husband Mr. Somnath Mukherjee is the Director of Associated Global VAT LLP. In an exclusive interview, she shares her reasons for choosing the school, her daughter’s progress at the school and her experience of the online mode of education. Edited Excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Saket over other schools for your child’s admission?

The first reason is proximity. Apeejay Saket is very near to our home. The second reason is that my elder daughter Lerica Mukherjee is also an Apeejay Saket student. She studies in Class 12 currently. Her experience in the school has been really good. The atmosphere of the school is fantastic. The teachers are completely involved with the student. She tells me that the teachers teach her very well. So, we wanted to give Somica the same learning oriented environment.

Please tell us a bit about Somica and take us through her progress at school?

Somica even as a Nursery student was very eager to participate in all activities at school. She loved to participate in the singing and dancing activities with her classmates. She also keeps practicing music and dance inside the house.

Her classes are going on online currently. She is doing very well in them. She is always very curious to learn. She loves to watch all these knowledgeable videos on YouTube, all these science videos.  Then she compares what she learned from the YouTube videos with what she learned from her online class and textbooks.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Yes. The teachers are teaching very well. Somica is very eager to attend the class and is always excited to learn from her teachers. She loves to study everything, all the subjects are her favorite (laughs). She is good in all the fields, be it English, Math, Social Science, Arts, Music, Dance everything.

What is the best thing about Apeejay Saket?

The best thing about the school is that the school is helping all the students to gain more knowledge every day. I see this especially with both my daughters.  Apeejay Saket is their second home and the teachers have become like parents to them. That is Apeejay Saket for us.

What is your perception about the online classes?

Earlier during the physical classes, I was not aware about the lessons and activities that my daughters were participating in the school. Now in the online classes, I am updated by my daughter about all classes and activities. It is now easy for me to access all the information regarding their responsibilities such as the projects and assignments.
