Extracurricular activities at school play a significant role in the holistic development of students. “This school offers many extracurricular activities, such as volunteering and service projects, teach students the value of contributing to their community and foster a sense of civic responsibility,” shares Ritika Gupta whose son Punay is studying in class VII at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg.

Read excerpts from the interview:

Why did you select Apeejay for your child?

I am proud to share that my husband is an alumni of Apeejay and it’s his wish to put his children in the same school. We are happy to continue the legacy of Apeejay in our family.

How are the teachers here?

I have never faced any issue with the teachers here since they are quite cooperative. In fact, a few teachers here are from my husband’s time at school, so it’s always a happy feeling to see my child being under their guidance too.

How has your son’s journey been at school so far?

My son, Punay, started from pre Nursery at Rhythms Kinderworld in Jalandhar and now he is in VII standard at Apeejay. So far the journey is like a mixed bag – full of learnings and experiences.

How are the extracurricular activities here?

Both my children participate in Olympiads regularly and are quite competitive. My elder son Ayaan is in the basketball team, and Punay is involved in chess and football at school.

Do you agree that school is the second home for a child?

Teachers play most important role in shaping a child’s progress and personality. I am glad that teachers here focus on both my kids efficiently.

Define your parenting style.

My focus as a parent is always on inculcating discipline in my children. My main concern as a parent is to make my children to do something extra outside if textbooks.

Do your children talk about their aspirations?

My elder one wishes to be a scientist and younger son is still yet to decide. Though we do have certain small discussions about career goals but I will give both of them enough time to arrive at a final decision for choosing the apt profession.
