A group of ten enthusiastic students from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, embarked on an enriching educational visit to the India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Bharat Mandapam, where they explored the fascinating world of aviation at the Airport Authority of India (AAI) pavilion. The visit was designed to provide real-world exposure to students and enhance their understanding of how airports function as crucial national gateways.

Upon arrival at the pavilion, the students were introduced to various aspects of airport operations. They learnt about runway management, understanding how runways are designed and maintained for safe aircraft movement. Demonstrations helped them visualise the take-off and landing process, highlighting how precision and coordination ensure the safety of passengers and crew. Students also observed the sophisticated role of Air Traffic Control (ATC) in monitoring flights, regulating airspace, and guiding pilots through modern communication systems.

Another major area of curiosity was airport safety and emergency response. The fire safety section gave students insights into the advanced firefighting equipment and rapid-response strategies used to protect millions of travellers. They further gained awareness of technological advancements in airport security, including screening systems and integrated surveillance networks.

The visit also carried a patriotic spirit as students collectively sang Vande Mataram, creating a moment of pride and unity in the pavilion. An exciting airport-themed quiz tested their knowledge and made the learning experience interactive and fun. The Airport Authority of India appreciated their enthusiasm and presented them with AAI goodies as souvenirs of the memorable visit.

Throughout the excursion, students explored diverse career pathways in aviation, such as ATC services, engineering roles, fire and rescue operations, airport management, and other specialised professional domains. The experience broadened their horizons and sparked curiosity about future opportunities in this dynamic global industry.

The school continues to uphold its vision of experiential learning, enabling students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications. This thoughtfully planned educational outing was both inspiring and informative, leaving a lasting impression on young minds.

The visit empowered students with a deeper understanding of aviation sciences, teamwork, technology, and national infrastructure. It strengthened their curiosity, critical thinking, and career awareness, encouraging them to dream big, explore new fields, and appreciate the vital role of airports in connecting the world.
