A thrilling two-day under-15 and under-18 inter-school football tournament was recently held at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. Teams from various schools participated, showcasing their talent and determination.
The event kicked off with the ceremonial lighting of the torch, symbolising the excellence and spirit of inter-school sportsmanship. Dr. Sarita Pandey, Principal of the school, addressed the enthusiastic players, emphasising that the tournament was not just about the game, but also about learning the values of teamwork, strength, and cooperation.
The tournament saw a total of 17 teams fiercely competing against each other. In the under-15 category, Aster Public School, Greater Noida, emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over Arsline School, Greater Noida. Another exciting match saw Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, triumph over Delhi World Public School with a 2-0 scoreline. Samsara World Public School, Greater Noida, also delivered an impressive performance, defeating Pragyan School 3-0. The matches were filled with high-quality football, thrilling spectators and participants alike.
In the under-18 category, the competition was equally intense. Delhi Public School, Greater Noida, secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Arsline School, Greater Noida. Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, continued their winning streak with a 1-0 win over Pragyan School.
A dramatic match between Army Public School, Noida, and Apeejay School, Noida, ended in a draw, with Army Public School clinching a 4-2 victory in the penalty shootout. Similarly, the match between Kendriya Vidyalaya, Noida, and Mayur School, Noida, was decided by a penalty shootout, with Mayur School winning 4-3.
Throughout the tournament, the young athletes demonstrated remarkable skill, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm, making the event a resounding success.
