Dr Sheebha Taufiq is a gynaecologist. Her husband Mr. Sami Ur Rahman is an engineer in Valdel engineers and constructors Pvt. Ltd. Their children  Izaan and Ibrahim Rahman are class 6 and kindergarten students respectively at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. In an interesting interview, Dr Sheebha tells us about the progress of her children and what she thinks makes the school the best place for ‘happy learning’. Read edited excerpts:

Ibrahim was enrolled a year ago in the school. Was his admission process easy?

There were no difficulties. Actually, my elder son Izaan was in Apeejay School Rhythms Kinderworld initially. And then we got him enrolled in nursery at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. But we eventually shifted to Noida, so I got Izaan transferred to Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. I was very satisfied with this school, so I got Ibrahim, my younger son enrolled here as well.

How are Ibrahim and Izaan performing at the school?

They are both doing good. Ibrahim loves Mathematics among his subjects.  Izaan got 95% this year. He is a ranker in this school and was also at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. He too is very good at Science and Math.

Our family is full of engineers and doctors, so everyone is good at Science and Math. But the drawback is we are all poor in Arts (laughs). I try a lot, put my kids in art classes, but they too seem to have taken after the family genes. Izaan, a topper in other subjects, gets a B grade only in dance and music. (laughs again)

Would you recommend the school to other parents?

Yes, I would highly recommend it. My younger child is so happy. In the post-Covid time, little kids could not make many friends or wish to go outside. But in the six months going to the school, he is very happy and has learned a lot.

Best thing about the school?

As a parent, I feel the school provides a safe environment, where happy learning is encouraged. Ibrahim is happy, actually all his friends are at school, so he is very excited to go to school everyday. He doesn’t even listen to me at times, but only listens to his class teacher Shivika ma’am. The teaching here is very effective. Infrastructure of the school is also very good. Both my kids are very happy here.

Finally, tell us about the teachers?

Firstly, I would like to thank Sarita Pande ma’am. She is such a nice Principal, so amiable and supportive even with the parents. All the teachers are very nice in the school. They are very helpful. The KG kids have formed a sweet and sincere attachment with Shivika ma’am and are doing very well.
