Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, recently hosted a vibrant and thoughtfully designed Orientation Programme to welcome its new batch of students. The event marked a significant milestone in the academic lives of the entrants, offering them a glimpse into the dynamic world of college education and opportunities for holistic development.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA, set an inspiring tone with her address, stressing the importance of college years as a defining phase in a student’s life. “These three or four years are the foundation for your entire future. Every moment counts,” she said, highlighting the need for goal-setting, self-discipline, and effective time management. Dr. Dhingra encouraged students to take ownership of their academic and personal growth during this critical period.

More than just an academic institution, Apeejay College of Fine Arts promotes an enriching experience through co-curricular involvement. Dr. Dhingra urged students to actively participate in student-led forums like NSS, NCC, SWA, the Literary Club, IT Forum, and MAC Forum. She emphasised that engaging in these activities enhances leadership skills, self-confidence, and personal development, turning students into well-rounded individuals ready to face real-world challenges.

She also spoke about the importance of cultivating a reading habit and encouraged students to make the library an integral part of their college routine. Dr. Dhingra proudly shared the college’s stellar legacy of achievements—having won the Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth Festival Championships of Guru Nanak Dev University for 24 consecutive years. Students have also consistently brought laurels to the institution at the North Zone and National Youth Festivals. She motivated the new entrants to explore their talents and participate actively in such competitions to carry the legacy forward.

As part of the orientation, heads of departments introduced students to their respective academic disciplines and faculty members. These sessions offered insights into curriculum structure, academic expectations, and career prospects aligned with various specialisations, providing clarity and direction for the students’ future pursuits.

The programme concluded with a strong sense of motivation and belonging among the freshers. With clear guidance, inspiring leadership, and a vibrant campus culture awaiting them, the students left the orientation well-prepared and eager to begin their transformative journey at Apeejay College of Fine Arts.
